What a crazy day it has been! My first day as an extra for the movie Pitch Perfect. Supposedly Baton Rouge is the "Hollywood of the south" because the film companies get a 30% tax credit for filming in Louisiana. So anyway my day began when my alarm clock when off at 3:50AM! (That is not a typo!). Our official call time was 5:30 but they recommend you to come early. When I arrived I was greeted by a long table of donuts, fruit, granola bars, hot chocolate, etc. The hot chocolate was nice because it was freezing and we were wearing clothes that fit the "August/September in Atlanta" setting. A man took me and another girl to wardrobe and told us we were going to be Teachers for America and gave us a t-shirt to wear with our business causal attire. We then got on a bus and headed to the movie set right in the middle of LSU's campus. The setting was like a back to school bash with booths set up for all the students to check out. I was at the teacher booth. (I have a few pictures I would love to post on here but I signed a waiver saying I am not allowed to take pictures.) This movie is like a college a capella singing group. It is definitely a comedy, and definitely pg-13 maybe R...I heard a lot of inappropriate dialogue coming from Adam DeVine who plays Bumber in the movie. While I was just chillin' at my booth Brittany Snow and Anna Kendrick walk up and stand right in front of me!!! They were literally 5 feet away from me!! I almost didn't recognize them. Brittany Snow had auburn hair and no makeup and Anna Kendrick was wearing sunglasses (the sun wasn't even out) and she was very very skinny and like 5 feet tall. I tried to play it off like "yea, I see movie stars all the time" but I was kinda going crazy inside. Here are pictures if you have never heard of them:
You may know Brittany Snow from John Tucker Must Die , Hairspray, or American Dreams |
Anna Kendrick: Twilight and Up in the Air |
Australian actress Rebel Wilson: Bridesmaids ring a bell? |
After a long 13 hour day on set they yelled "it's a wrap"! Well it is true they start the cameras as soon as the sun rises and they don't quit until the sun goes down. Oh and another highlight...the director constantly called me the girl in the checked skirt until the very end he asked me what my name was! Haha, silly I know. Well I won't write a novel because tomorrow is another 5:30 day. I will now enjoy the halloween I have left with my wonderful husband and eat some delicious candy that my wonderful mother-in-law sent us in the mail!
